NFID provides support to the prospective researchers and specialists from developing countries through different types of programs: research calls, scholarships, travel grants, expert advisory, consultancy. Specialist from a developing country can seek for NFID support at any stage of the career. NFID supports young, mid-career and experienced specialists without gender of any other kind of discrimination.
Type of grant
The Foundation provides grants after the application review through programs or calls. Calls are open for participation to all and usually the number of participants (individuals, teams or organizations) is not limited. It is important that your project or personal professional development idea meets the selection criteria.
The application can be made online. Candidate can fill up a special form that will be sent straight to NFID. Candidate will receive feedback within a few days. Candidates also send they reports on grant spending through the online platform. On this web site you will always find a schedule for the calls, information on selection criteria, answers to frequently asked questions and other useful information. Additional questions will be answered by calls administrators through consultations and webinars.
Selection of winners
To review an individual application NFID forms an independent committee, the composition of which is updated annually. The committees for the calls are formed in accordance of the call themes and include international recognizable experts. Each application is evaluated by at least two independent experts. Foundation’s employees do not participate in the examination. All lists of winners are then published on the website and winners receive e-mails.
In addition to financing NFID provides informational, expert and educational support during the period of the grant implementation and beyond. NFID monitors the implementation of projects in order to keep abreast of events, help to resolve emerging issues in time and achieve the best results.
During the period of the grant implementation grantees provide interim and final reports. NFID strives to attend all important project events, organize meetings with grant recipients and professional events with their participation. NFID evaluates the results, identifies the most successful practices and models that may be in demand in the sphere, and also actively participates in their promotion.
